Case Study: Future-Proof Business Wi-Fi with UniFi at Vision Composites

The Challenge

Vision Composites required a robust and reliable wireless network to support daily business operations across multiple areas of their premises.


Key challenges included:


  • Inconsistent Wi-Fi coverage between rooms

  • Physical installation constraints

  • Seamless Roaming

  • Wi-Fi segregation

  • Increasing demand for high-speed, stable connectivity


The client needed a solution that would work within these constraints while providing long-term performance and scalability.


The Solution

We designed and deployed an enterprise-grade network using Ubiquiti UniFi, incorporating the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology for future-ready performance.


The solution included:

  • Wi-Fi 7 access points for improved speed, lower latency, and better handling of multiple devices

  • Strategic ceiling-mounted placement to maximise coverage despite cabling limitations

  • A PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) switch, removing the need for separate power supplies and simplifying installation

  • A dedicated UniFi controller for centralised management

  • UniFi Site Manager for secure remote access, monitoring, and ongoing support

  • Additional cooling for UniFi controller


The system was installed in phases, allowing real-world performance testing and optimisation without unnecessary cost.


Smart Monitoring & Support

A key part of the solution is proactive monitoring and remote support.


Using UniFi’s management platform, we can:

  • Monitor device performance, signal strength, and connection quality

  • Identify issues such as low-speed Ethernet links (e.g. 100 Mbps limitations)

  • Troubleshoot client-specific issues without needing to attend site

  • Optimise the network automatically (scheduled daily optimisation)

For example, when intermittent buffering was reported on a UHD TV service, remote diagnostics confirmed:

  • Strong Wi-Fi signal and high connection speeds

  • Minimal packet retries (indicating a healthy wireless connection)

This allowed the issue to be isolated to device or connection limitations rather than the network itself—saving time and unnecessary changes.


The Result

The upgraded network delivered:

  • Consistent, high-speed Wi-Fi coverage across all areas

  • Improved performance for high-bandwidth applications (including UHD streaming)

  • Seamless roaming between access points

  • Reduced cabling complexity through PoE deployment

  • Ongoing visibility and control via remote monitoring


Future-Ready Infrastructure

The solution provides a scalable platform that can grow with the business, including:

  • Additional access points if required

  • Integration with CCTV and security systems

  • Remote access and cloud-managed services

  • Incremental upgrades without full system replacement
